He noted that the main aims of the foundation are:1. To supervise and aid in the development of the creative ability of Caribbean people through creative planning.2. To encourage the natural geniuses of our people to reach the highest point.The Caribbean Development for the Arts, Sports and Culture Foundation in association with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) will be staging its 12 Annual Caribbean Hall of Fame Awards for Excellence after a 2 years break. This year the Foundation will be hosting the event in association with United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) which will be sponsoring the citations and trophies. In the past we have partnered with United Nations World Decade for Cultural Development (UNDP). We are happy to have UNESCO partnering with us for the 2014 Caribbean Hall of Fame Awards for Excellence 2014. In 2004 the foundation was honored by the United Nations (UN) as one of the best organizations geared within the western hemisphere. 4 tourists missing in Moinot Ghat Coxs Bazar

first_imgIn separate incidents, four tourists went missing in Moinot Ghat in Dohar of Dhaka and Cox’s Bazar sea beach on Tuesday, reports UNB.At Moinot Ghat, two college students and their university-going friend went missing while swimming in the Padma river around 5:00pm, said officer-in-charge of Dohar police station Sirajuddin.However, the identity of the missing was yet to be known, he said, adding that divers were searching for them.  In Cox’s Bazar, a teenage boy went missing in the bay near the Laboni Point of Cox’s Bazar Sea Beach around 10:00am, said senior assistant police super of Cox’s Bazar Tourism Police Raihan Kazeny.The victim is Sudipta Dey, 17, son of Shital Chandra Dey. He passed this year’s SSC examination from a BGB Pilkhana school in Dhaka.Sudipta along with his family members went to the sea beach in the morning.At one stage of swimming in the sea at the Laboni Point, he was washed away by waves.last_img read more
