CALIFORNIA CITY – Kern County coroner’s investigators on Tuesday sought dental records needed to establish the identity of a decomposed female body found Sunday in California City near where a missing teenage girl was last seen two weeks ago, a police official said. Jamesha Terry, 14, who lives in the area, was last seen about 3:45p.m. March19 at the Aspen Mall on Bay Avenue near 82nd Street, California City Police Lt. Steve Colerick said. The body was found in an open field in the 21000 block of Neuralia Road, Colerick said. Colerick said the body was decomposed beyond recognition, and it was difficult to determine the victim’s age. Kern County investigators assigned to the case attended Tuesday’s autopsy in Bakersfield. They sought help from the FBI in producing Terry’s dental records. “For the sake of the family and (Terry), I pray that it’s not her and that she’s still alive,” Colerick said.
